Spoonful of .....Splenda?

My_life_2

Some Fun LO's from this weekend!!  I did some of the challenges at Scrap In Style TV.  Every CHA, there are challenges for everyone who didn't get to attend the event.  Tons of fun!!  I only did a few this year, had a lot of errand running and other stuff going on! :)Sweet_as_2  This LO was for the AMEX Challenge...those ads you see in magazines!

This one "Sweet as Splenda?" was for the Trash Digger challenge, using something from the trash.  My hubby was HORRIFIED by that idea so I had to use new Splenda packets!

Sis_atc_chall This is an ATC I made for a challenge....came out funky and fun!

This last LO, "HOme is Where the Heart Is" was a label challenge.  I used a label from Hawaii candy to remind me of home.  So much fun!!!Home_is_where Thanks for looking everyone!

And BTW, Lydia, I am still doing your challenge...have the letter written, need to do the LO!!

Round and Round

My week was CRAZY!!  Workwise, it was super productive, for which I am happy.  I really felt in the groove at work.  Got a lot done, even though I have a bit of work to do this weekend.  We had an incredible speaker at the sales meeting I attended, his name was Marlon Shirley, an Olympic track and field athlete.  He was truly inspirational and really spoke to me.  Listening to him strengthened my resolve to seriously attack this weight loss thing.  He is one of the fastest people in the WORLD.  Very incredible.   So, thanks to Marlon for his inspiration, even though he might not know it!  Here is Marlon's website, Marlon Shirley.

On the personal side, My Daughter's Wish, my local scrapbook store, had a HUGE Open House where everyone was invited to come for food and to do ATC cards with the Wish Chicks, the design team.  I might have posted this before, I am one of the Wish Chicks!  Yeah!!  We all made ATC's then did them as make and takes.  We were PACKED with people, every 20 minutes we got another group.  I had sooo much fun!!  It was great to meet all the customers and for them to see us and our work.  Sheri, the owner, did a fab job putting on the evening.  I KNOW everyone had a FABULOUS time.  I hope we do it again!  This was my card...I know, I know, not my usual brights.  I didn't go to the Design Team meeting because of the flu, so I got a leftover baggie of stuff!  I loved it though, I rocked the muted colors!! (Julie L-B, if you read this, aren't you proud of me for rocking the muteds? LOL!)

Today is Saturday!! I had a really productive workweek so I am feeling good today!! I do have a bit of work to finish this weekend but that's no biggie!!  I got a bit of sleep and then I got to SCRAP!!!  I needed some creative time!  I wanted to make a mini book of a girls trip, but a STAR I had gotten from the Cocoa Daisy kit last year was calling out to me!  I altered it with some Scenic Route and Love, Elsie papers along with some Bazzil, Imaginisce, and Lil Davis Flowers and topped it off with some Heidi Swapp Bling!  I love the way it came out, very understated and awesome!  I am giving this away as a gift to one of my dear friends.  I might be tempted to keep it for myself though!  LOL!!  You probably want to see a pic, right?

I am off to do a bit of work before doing more SCRAPPING!!  Sooo excited!!

Let Him Fly

Here are the pics of the mini album I made of the big graduation photos!  I got this Maya Road Bird Mini Album in a kit and we all know how I feel about birds! LOL!!  It ended up being the perfect inspiration for this project.  Let me know what you think!

Img_7453 Img_7445 Img_7427 Img_7424 Img_7446 These are some of my fave pages.  I really wanted this book to be very lumpy/bumpy and textured.  I am happy with the way it came out!

First Blog Post of 2008!

Yes, Virginia!  I am still alive!!  I haven't blogged in forever!!  Let's see what's happened:

  • Had Thanksgiving in Southern California, had a great time!
  • Visited my mom in AV, it was fabulous to hang out with her!
  • My birthday in December was AWESOME!  Ross took me to see Wicked in LA.  I cannot even begin to describe how utterly fabulous it was.  If you get a chance, you MUST see it.  My new song right now is "Defying Gravity".
  • Unfortunately, while we were away, I ended up getting the flu!  I woke up on Saturday morning feeling like crap and with a 101 degree fever!!  We were celebrating Christmas with Ross's family and I ended up being feverish and out of it for most of the day.  Not too much fun.  Ross dropped me off at the hotel . I ended up being out of work for 3 more days, which was also not fun.
  • My mom came home for the holidays.  We had a great time with her.  I miss hanging out with her more often.
  • We had a wonderful Christmas.  Ross got Guitar Hero and now we are addicted!
  • I was on vacation for the week of Christmas.  I had a work meeting on January 2 then was on vacation for the rest of the week.  I played Guitar Hero on Thursday morning and scrapped in the afternoon.  By 5pm on Thursday, I was in bed with the flu!
  • Today, I am getting tons better.  I missed a meeting of the My Daughters Wish Design team, total bummer.  I am not sure if I am going to my church thing tomorrow.  I don't want to have a relapse.  I have way too much going on at work next week.

So, that's what's going on with me!  LOL!!  I worked on a special project during my vacation.  I will post pics later on this weekend.  Have a great day!

Krazytown

Yes, it is Krazytown around here!!  I've been sooo super busy with everthing:  work, hanging out with the hubby, church stuff, house stuff, etc.  I feel like I am running around like the proverbial headless chicken.  I just started on Christmas gifts this weekend and I feel totally behind, which adds to my stress level.  Add on to that, my travel schedule has gotten insane lately!   I haven't been able to hang out with my scrapping Peeps- hey there Daniela, Nancie, Wendy!!

I finished 3 gifts tonight though.  That is a positive thing.  Here is the frame I made for my nephew:

Img_7142_11     Hope everyone is having a decent week.  Talk to you later!

Let's Hear it for the Boy(s)!!

I actually got to scrap a little bit this weekend!! Yeah!!  Not sure if I scrapped on Friday or Saturday, but I did scrap!! See!!!!

3_amigos_300_4 This is such a great pic of Ross and his two best friends.  Love it!!  And I went out of my comfort zone, using some colors that are not usually in my repetoire!  It turned out better than what I had thought in my head, and that's always a nice thing!! LOL!!

I also went to a Romance Writers meeting and we had the founder of NaNoWriMo, Chris Baty, speak at the meeting.  NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month and I am trying it out!!  The point is to write a 50,000 word novel within the month of November.  Scarily enough, I have about 10,000 words so far!! Yeah!!!  We will see how it goes!!   Just did a bunch of errands for the rest of the weekend, nothing too exciting!

Check out this post on my friend Sonda's blog.  She is doing a FABULOUS stamp raffle as a fundraiser for her daughter Baylee!!  Check it out and possibly contribute if you are interested.  Sonda is a wonderful, wonderful woman and Baylee is a beautiful child.  Yeah!  Sonda's Stamp Raffle

Pomp and Circumstance

Yes, folks, the day has arrived!  My dearest hubby graduated from college with his Bachelor of Science Degree!!! YIPPEE!!!  I am so incredibly proud of his accomplishment.  It takes a lot of heart, perserverance and guts to get through college when you are in your mid-30's and you are surrounded by young pups.  I am so proud to be his wife!!  We had a bunch of family and friends with us at the ceremony then at a party at our house that night.  We had such a fabulous time.  I cannot wait to scrap some of these pics.  My man looked very HANDSOME!

Img_6397_3 Truly, such a wonderful day.  Doesn't he look happy?!  This is what life is truly about, my dear friends.  Enjoy!

Be Still My Beating Heart!

How is everyone today?  We just got back from Los Angeles yesterday where I got to attend my first Halloween Haunt at Knott's Berry Farm!  It's a crazy event!!  I cannot believe so many people were in one place.  We went with some of our friends and we were truly some of the oldest folks there! LOL!!

Img_6317_3

I tell you, this event ROCKS!!! It was pretty impressive, all of the mazes, which were basically mini haunted houses, were so detailed and well done.  And the "talent", all trying to scare you to death!!  I did okay, didn't scream at all, just jumped a few times!! The creepiest one and my favorite was the Doll Factory.  If you head to Halloween Haunt, you must see this one!  It's awesome!  We stayed out until 4am then drove home at noon.  So, today is a big day of rest for us!

On an exciting but scary in a different way, I am scheduled to teach my first class at My Daughters Wish!  Sooo exciting!! I will be teaching the "Great Full Life" mini book class.  I love the way the book turned out, patterned paper, paints, inks, stamps, all kinds of fun!  Since I love training at work, I am totally excited to teach a scrapbooking class, especially something that is near and dear to my heart.  Here are a couple of pics:

Img_6294_3

See, I can even use fall colors!! LOL!! Of course they are bright and crazy, which is totally my style!!

Img_6293_2

I will tell you, folks, that these Design Team Ladies at My Daughters Wish have got it GOING ON!!  There are some fabulously talented people on this team!!  So many artists and doing so many different, amazing things.  I am totally excited about being on this team and soaking up all of the creative energy that exists when we get together.  Thanks to Sheri and Daniela for giving us all such great opportunities!

The other thing to do is our store sample.  I finished mine yesterday (YEAH!), so happy because I have so many things going on at the end of this month.  I did a layout of my awesome nephew, using the Luxe Jotters, some Basic Grey and other goodies.  I busted out my watercolor paints for this one, too!!  Here it is:

U_da_bomb_24 A bit funky and freaky but I like it!!!

I think that's it for now!!!  Hope everyone has a great week!! Mine will be great, but SUPER BUSY!!
